Since its inception in 2018, the Spentshell imprint has proven its dedication to promoting and educating on the many varieties of Grime music and its commitment to pushing the scene forward.
Run by Grime legend and pioneer Flowdan, it has become known as one of the most respected and loved platforms for Grime, Dancehall and beyond, providing a home not just for Flowdan’s own work, but also a place to showcase and elevate newer artists such as PK, YGG, GHSTLY XXVII, Irah, Abstrakt Sonance, Docious and many more.
As Flowdan says himself, “Spentshell isn’t a new idea. [Starting a label] is usually a progression for musicians when they’re becoming more seasoned at their thing. Sometimes there’s no place like your own. Being a grime pioneer, I understand the importance of creating a space to operate in, so Spentshell is my idea of that, a space to create grime. Not just for me but for everyone I’m working with.”
